For a family of 4: 5 piece round sets
A 120cm round table with four chairs fits apartments and townhouses. The Edmonton, Montreal, Calgary and Ottawa sets all pair a black fluted pedestal table with four chairs in different styles.
For a family of 6: 7 piece sets
For six, choose a table around 160cm to 220cm. Extendable sets such as the Sicily and Catania give you a compact everyday size that grows when guests arrive. Fixed sets like the Tuscany suit larger dining rooms. Compare them in our 7 piece dining sets guide.
For a family of 8 or more: 9 piece sets
A 220cm to 240cm table seats eight. The Auckland pairs the Oslo 220cm black table with eight Balmer chairs; the Geneva pairs a natural table with eight beige chairs. See large dining sets for 8 to 10.
Quick sizing rules
- Allow about 60cm of table length per person.
- Leave at least 90cm between the table edge and walls so chairs slide out.
- Round tables suit 4 to 6; rectangular and oval tables suit 6 and more.
